The NIS 2 Directive: What is it and who does it impact?
NIS 2 is relevant to all organisations that both provide services or engage in activities within the EU and meet the criteria of either "essential" or "important" entities in predefined sectors. Exceptions include small and micro businesses due to size limitations and there are possible exemptions for entities involved in national security, public security, defence, or law enforcement.
NIS 2 will play a crucial role within the EU's Cybersecurity strategy and aligns with the European Commission's strategy to prepare Europe for the digital era.
